Swedish Massage* uses five styles of long, flowing strokes to massage. The five basic strokes are sliding, kneading, rhythmic tapping, friction, and vibration/shaking. This therapy will increase circulation, soothe tired muscles, and induce an overall sense of relaxation. Swedish massage has shown to be helpful in reducing pain, joint stiffness, and improving function in patients with osteoarthritis.

Neuromuscular Therapy* is also called trigger point myotherapy. Many find this form of massage therapy to be an effective treatment for back pain caused by soft tissue injury (such as a muscle strain). Neuromuscular therapy consists of alternating levels of concentrated pressure on the areas of muscle spasm. The massage therapy pressure is usually applied with the fingers, knuckles, or elbow.

Deep Tissue Massage* is designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue or fascia. This type of massage focuses on the muscles located below the surface of the top muscles. Deep tissue massage is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity (such as athletes), and patients who have sustained physical injury. It is not uncommon for receivers of deep tissue massage to have their pain replaced with a new muscle ache for a day or two.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage* is a type of gentle massage which is intended by proponents to encourage the natural circulation of the lymph through the body.

Cranial Sacral Therapy* involves the therapist gently working with the spine and the skull. In this way, the restrictions of nerve passages are eased, the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spinal cord is optimized, and misaligned bones are restored to their proper position. Craniosacral therapists use the therapy to treat mental stress, neck and back pain, migraines, TMJ Syndrome, and for chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia.

Prenatal Massage is a gentle yet effective massage used to relieve aches and pains associated with pregnancy.

Hot Rock Massage* Warmed, smooth river stones are used to enhance deep relaxation and physical renewal in this unique massage.

Reflexology* relieves stress and tension by applying pressure point massage to the feet.

*Not recommended during pregnancy.
